Tired and inspired

This is an old poem of mine...
Just found it, thought I'd share it with you.
Sorry it's not in English.

Liefde, jij onbetrouwbare vreemdeling.
Waarom heb je de hoop opgegeven?
Laten we de tijd nemen
Als het moet, zal ik het terug draaien voor ons
Geef mij die krachtige handen
En ik verover er de wereld mee
Voor ons...

Liefde, jij grootse held.
Ik wilde een gedicht voor je schrijven.
Ik wilde de meest verzachtende woorden pakken en ze in je hoofd plaatsen.
Maar ik heb gefaald.
Ik heb koortsig gezocht over deze hele wereld
Maar geen woorden zijn het waard, geen woorden kunnen er tegenop.
Wat jij mij gegeven hebt kost zo veel meer.

Liefde, jij onschuldige redder.
Ik heb je nooit veracht
Het doet me pijn dat jij denkt van wel
Ik bewonder je dat jij de wereld ziet zoals ze is
Niet kijkend door een roze gloed
Onvergevend voor haar wreedheid

Laten we samen de wereld minachten
Wees niet bang, ik leid je er doorheen
Ik zal tegen haar metaforische schenen shoppen
En haar een trut noemen recht in haar gezicht
Want met jou erbij heb ik lef

Inspired by Frida

Simple. Just one simple, kind of random school assignment.

"Create a self-portrait".
That's it, that's all you get.
This is so insanely optional, thousands of idea's cross my mind.
Painting or drawing? 3D object or picture? Realistic or surrealistic? Detailled, colorfull, large, sloppy, happy, idealised, lugubrious of maybe abstract? What to do!
And THEN, I had it. Out of the blue. My respect and admirance for Frida Kahlo has given me brilliant idea.
I, could turn myself into a modern FRIDA. The idea appealed to me, it was a challenge because of her surrealism, but thanks to Photoshop not impossible!

Eventually, taking the pictures took me almost a full day.
Photoshopping them, took me another one.
I'm proud of the result!
